I began acupuncture and massage treatment for low back and hip pain from Dr. Rankin in December 2008, after receiving less than effective relief from physical therapy sessions recommended by my medical doctor. The only option I had left before receiving acupuncture was to take daily pain medication which I was reluctant to do.
The acupuncture treatment process itself was far less painful than I anticipated. Although I had seen my spouse benefit from acupuncture several years ago for a variety of problems ranging from hypertension, anxiety, and shingles, I questioned whether it could alleviate my back and hip pain.
I experienced very little discomfort from the treatment. A few needle insertions created a minimal, short-lasting sting, but I was not even aware of many of the insertions. Even before completing treatment from Dr. Rankin, I was able to discontinue all pain medication and, because of the reduction of pain, I am able to exercise again and I am experiencing better quality of sleep.
Dr. Rankin demonstrates an extraordinary level of professionalism in care and treatment of his patients and I highly recommend him to anyone seeking alternative care for pain management.

I went to Dr. Rankin for a number of health reasons. Previously I had been in a very bad golf cart accident. I had facial injuries. My jaw was broken and I would have occasional pain. As a result of the accident I also had a lot of pain in my hands because arthritis set in. As I began getting better I started to play tennis and golf again and I found it was extremely painful. Also I have tinnitus and that has become louder because of the fall out of the golf cart.
I didn't want to take any pain medicine so I decided to try acupuncture. My mother, who is 95 years old, has been treated with acupuncture most of her life. My husband and I met Dr. Rankin at a seminar he was giving. I told him of my problem and since that time until now I've been a very grateful patient of his. He is a well-educated doctor who is very attentive and listens well. His treatments are beneficial, wonderfully relaxing and painless.

I am compelled to write this testimony in order to help many people like myself who were skeptical about receiving acupuncture. Like the human mechanism instilled within ourselves is the doubt of anything for which we know nothing about. Therefore we tend to shy away from anything not part of the "normal" aspects of life. However, when one has reached his limitations so to speak, it is then that we tend to pursue other avenues of relief from that dreaded word some of us know to well as "PAIN." I was at the point where I couldn't tolerate mine any longer, and through prayer God lead me to the office of Dr. Jerry Rankin.
Due to a fall three years ago when I tore my rotator cuff I developed sever osteoarthritis. This was even worse than the original injury itself and I was left with a stabbing, burning pain that just couldn't be stopped by any therapy or prescription medication. Strong pain medicine just wasn't the way I wanted to live the rest of my life and deal with an addiction as well as bad side effects. Now along with my painful arm I also had stiff and painful knees, having been told I would need a "total knee replacement" in order to stop the pain. Then to add to my misery I have spontaneous pains from Ovarian Cysts. Having been to an OBGYN and had prior surgery to remove one, I was told I now needed to go through it again for the other side and in the meantime a cysts grew back on the side where surgery was already performed. Talk about discouraged. I felt I could write the book on feeling depressed.
However, now with a multitude of purpose and this "ready to try anything" attitude along with a prayer on my lips, I made my appointment. Afraid of the unknown I was ready to accept any pain since it just couldn't be more than I was already going through. Now after eight visits I am praising God and also praising Dr. Jerry Rankin. The severe burning pain in my arm disappeared after the third visit, and my knees are getting progressively better with each visit. I know the cysts will be a slower process, but I'm already feeling relief. Best of all there has been absolutely NO pain in any of my treatments. Dr. Rankin has been so genuinely caring, concerned and professional about my treatments and most of all about my total well-being. I have recommended him to my family for their individual needs, and I strongly suggest to those who have medical problems of any sort to give Dr. Jerry Rankin a chance to prove that he CAN help you too.
